Uncle Julio's Mexican From Scratch

Review is for Gainesville, Virginia on 12/27/20. Was not impressed with the steak fajita bowl. All of the steak was mostly fat and very little steak was provided. Also, paid for to-go chips and guacamole for 15, received a lot of chips and about 1 tablespoon of guacamole (meant for the fajitas). Will not be going back here.

The food here is pretty great, but the reason I keep coming back here is the service and staff. From my very first visit until present day, Luis (normally in the central bar area) has been so friendly and helpful at recommending menu items! From remembering my previous orders to recalling what I told him was happening at work the last time I visited, he never fails to impress me with his attention to detail and care for customers (my own experience, and also what I observe from other customers around me). Keep up the great work, Luis!! And thank you for being a bright spot in my week when I need it. UPDATE as of 12/22/20: Yet again, Luis is my saving grace and took care me while I was stressfully completing my work assignments before I left town for the holidays. This once again reaffirms that I keep coming back to this restaurant for the excellent service and LUIS MUST BE PROTECTED AT ALL COSTS!!!

Horrible Experience for the Price. We ordered Enchiladas, Crispy Tacos and Guacamole delivery via Doordash. The delivery was very quick because the restaurant is like 5 minutes from our home. The Crispy Tacos were soft, they were wrapped in plastic containers so the heat softened them. The Enchiladas, cheese, beef and chicken - the chicken was dry, the beef was ok, can't recall how the cheese was. We loved the Guacamole and the chips though. Still a lot of money for poor quality.

Uncle Julios has a decent sized menu with lots of choices. Bar drinks have a good sized selection also. If they still offer it, you have got to try the -321 Margarita made with liquid nitrogen. The salsa is authentic and served warm. The fajitas are delicious, and there are all sorts of favorites. They have kids meals, small plate meals and large combo meals!

My wife and I chose to celebrate date night at Uncle Julio’s. Our server, Alyssa, was outstanding! The food was delicious, and the guacamole is made fresh to order!! We shared the Beef and Chicken fajitas for two. One piece of advice...go hungry!! Not only is the food delicious, but the portions are plentiful!!
