I strongly recommend people stay away from them if giving something compulsory like zakat or expiation of oaths for example. Only give to them voluntary sadaqat. Look for somewhere else to give compulsory charity. Once I called them asking about how they distribute zakat and they said they purchase items with zakat money and distribute it. Zakat is supposed to be given in the form of money- but they will claim they have a fatwa backing it. Also asked them very recently about oath expiation and I got told on the phone it is not a guarantee 10 poor people will be fed and that they may divide money amongst 10 poor people instead....when the quran clearly instructed to feed 10 poor people when expiating an oath! They are ignorant of the rulings on important religious matters.
