Have been here a few times and recently my old man bought some architrave for his new place. When I went to cut it I found all 6 lengths were crooked as well as having gauges from the plane blade and serious tearout. While I know to always check before buying, they shouldn't be putting supposed finished products like this on the shelf in this condition.
I've always found Alsfords in Uckfield to be friendly and helpful. Prices are fair and a good range of materials.
Got there just after closing time. Very helpful chap cut some wood for me. Nails i wanted were cheaper than Screwfix. Definitely use again based on the friendly, helpful member of staff!
Four staff on duty there but only one seemed to be serving. Unfortunately he was on the phone. Eventually tried to order some wood to be cut, and he explained he had a lot to cut, and I would be best buying it at ......down the road! It would have been a 50 order?
