Awful. Tables dirty. Menu selection is varied but VERY overpriced and somewhat strange food selections offered. Very mediocre food. Old fashioned and dated but not in a nice twee tea room way. Odd furnishings and decor. Would not recommend and certainly wouldn't visit again. Much nicer places to visit in Tutbury.

This Castle is a marvellous example ofthe royal outposts around the country. It famously incarcerated Mary, Queen of Scots. The grounds are extensive and its one tome chapel has been uncovered by excavation. The corner tower is an inspiration as it looks down on the surrounding countryside. How ironic that from it one can look out on Nestle's factory.
Took my Mum for afternoon tea for her 90th birthday. Lovely place and the food was fabulous. A five year old and baby were welcomed and well catered for. Good social distancing and Covid regulations being adhered to. Would highly recommend!
Sorry to say it did not come upto my expections , nice friendly staff . Hot chocolate was watery and over priced as was the food nice small bowl of homemade veggie soup ,again over priced for what you had. My friend had a slice of Victoria sponge cake which turned out to be a slither ,with synthetic cream??? Price 3.95 . A slice of cake should be exactly that ,not a slither with synthetic cream in the middle, then the final insult ,3 .95 for the pleasure . Not good enough I'm afraid.
