This was our second visit at Turpins. Again, great food, quick service. Kind and attentive staff. I love the interior design, it’s trendy. Due to Covid-19 I’d probably keep a little bit bigger gaps between some of the tables, but other than that it’s a very nice dining experience.

Visited Sunday 6 th Sept 20 We ordered Starters Mussels in white wine and cream sauce for starters these were very good Mains We both ordered lamb rump crushed new potatos carrot in a red wine sauce Both mains were COLD had to send food back to kitchen When they came back 5 mins later , food at better temperature but lamb tough and potatos hard Not what we expected from what is not a cheep eatery. Not impressed We will not be returning.
Went for a meal for four last night. Firstly, its much bigger than it appears from the outside. When you get in there is a bustling atmosphere and it appears quite busy. The large open space and wooden floors attenuate the noise and it can get pretty difficult to have a conversation. Certainly not a place to go to relax. The service is good and quick. Prices also are pretty fair for what you get. By restaurant standards the food is average. Nothing especially to complain about (besides that 3 of our party were ill the following day but more on that later). The food is very average. Its just okay, basically unremarkable if you're used to dining out. Personally I wont go back as its not my type of thing. On our visit members of our party were ill the following day either with sickness or diarrhea. We did inform the restaurant and all we got back was 'thanks for letting us know we'll tell the head chef' - which kind of tells you everything you need to know about this place. Its not well located so I'd probably say its not worth a special visit.
What to expect from Turpins: Tastefully decorated but busy atmosphere, great food and not too expensive. Staff were friendly. Some really nice cocktails on the menu. Shout outs: All food was really well cooked and tasty, nothing in particular stood out. Things that could be improved: Perhaps the menu could be a little bigger? A few more items? Also, service for drinks to the table was really slow. All in all a nice place to eat, would go again.
Burger was a 6/10 for me with quite a over flavoured patty, chips great and garnish. However wife's pasta was top notch and staff very quick and sharp especially during this period of covid.
