I was here for about a month and detested it.. A couple of residents were really nice and welcoming.. Most of the others took the p--- out of me and joked about how little I did, but when I did the therapeutic duties they weren't sure I'd done them anyway. I told the staff about this and they made out like it was my fault.. I started drinking again and was sent home for that which I was happy about.. I managed to completely detox in hospital and am now over 3 months without alcohol but from my experience Leigh Bank is not a test of how well you can cope without alcohol.. It's a test on how you can live with people you're not familiar with..My experience is a particularly negative one that hindered my abstinence from alcohol rather than help it. Extremely negative experience for me!!
I felt very welcomed and supported by all the staff at Leigh Bank. I enjoyed all the group work and learnt lots of coping mechanisms for when I leave the service. The service really helped with my mental Health and I'm looking forward to leading a new life in recovery.
enjoyed my stay friendly staff and residents. been a journey and half having ups and downs and dealing with my emotions have been a rollercoaster but I'm learning to ride the waves. still learning to to love my self but I know I will get there cause i have learnt a lot of structure in leigh bank rehab so I have a lot of tools to take home with me.
