It was an early morning in late January, though the temperature didn’t feel like the Polar Vortex but I was used to it in Baguio City. I embark on a hiking quest on one of the most challenging hikes in the Cordillera Mountain conquering the Ampucao Sta. Fe. Mountain ranges from Ampucao at the starting point to the exit point in Sta. Fe. Though the hike’s length was only 9.4km, it was known for being as difficult for a young boy like me as it was exhilarating due to the terrain. But, in the words of my mother, it was worth it just for the views alone.

The trail here is like an ending trail of stairs... nice view and lots of trees...
The Mt. Ulap exit is located in Santa Fe, Ampucao. There are parking spaces there where you're vehicles and drivers could wait as you exit. There are sari-sari stores and also public restrooms/baths. Personally, this exit is always my entry point as I am more fond of doing the reverse-traverse. I suggest people who have weaker knees but could stand a 2.1 km assault do this rather than the usual route as it will be more painful for your knees to go down this area.
