I had the double chashu tsukemen and added eggs, garlic, and onikasu. Overall, I think it's a really tasty bowl of ramen, but it feels like they're pulling back some of their punches. The thickness of the noodles really hold up to the strong flavour of the broth, helping balance is out the salt. The vinegar base helps cut through the pork fat. The chashu is thick and juicy. Whatever shoyu base they use is fantastic. My complaints are likely all just personal preference, but this is my review so whatever. I really want a thicker broth, especially for a tsukemen. This style of ramen is supposed to be heavy and make you feel a little comatose afterwards, but I didn't get any of that. A broth that'll really cling to the noodles and give me that extra dosage of just pure salt and grease would bump it up a lot. I also prefer having chashu that's been broiled/torched. Rendered out fat is good, but broiling the chashu would give it the little aromatic boost that I would want from a good chashu as good as theirs. That could just be a intentional, stylistic decision, but my preferences are still my preferences. Last is that the onikasu is just not spicy enough. This ramen is supposed to be a flavour bomb. Give me a little kick too I think this is a solid 3.8 to 3.9. Very good ramen, but I just want a little more oomph

Got our delivery order completely wrong. Called up and all they could offer was for us to come and collect it. No apology. Zero cares given. Evening meal ruined. Had to eat what was in the order which was frankly horrible - noodles were stuck together and clumpy. Broth was laced with tons of raw garlic so couldn’t taste anything else. Pork was all fat and dry.

Overall pretty good. The soup was cold, which is typical for tsukemen. Same thing across the street. Just not so into cold soup. The outdoor area had a pretty bad odor which made it kind of annoying. Wobbly tables as well.

Pros :amazing bouncy noodles. I got the dipping noodles (tsukemen). Mine had a definite funk to it so was not a fan but my boyfriends noodles were great. Definitely will go back but there's so many options on Sawtelle. Go to Beard Papa down the street and pick up the best eclairs ever for dessert
