We had our dinner elsewhere but decided to get another dinner here. Despite of only sharing, our server was really attentive. We ordered herring salad, pickled soup, and chicken kiev; all were fantastic! Highly recommend.

Authentic Russian cuisine interlaced with a warm and historic setting. To match and enjoy such food, the restaurant staff do a fabulous job of assistance, with historic annotations. Definitely worth visiting!
The dinner show is around 8:30 PM and its wonderful. Their plate of two kinds of herring with new potatoes and herbs was a favorite.
Nice ambience, food and the toilet is a must visit!! The only thing I thought can be improved is the plating. It looks more \casual\ than \fine dining\. Their food is very good though. One of the best rum raisin icecream I've ever had!

We enjoyed dinner at Tsar Restaurant on our last evening in St. Petersburg and were delighted. The atmosphere, with a wonderful piano player in a beautiful building, the service and the cuisine were all excellent. It was also within walking distance of our hotel. It was a great evening!
