It is abit on the high price. But the food is really good. At first I did not really want to eat(as I did eat.something early on) but when I tasted one of the dishes, I decided to ordered a bowl of rice and eat of the dishes. It was just that good

Avoid at all cost. Very sub-par whilst overpriced. Meats were cold and hard. Seafood was not fresh and had odd tastes. Rice was clumpy and hard. Service was half-hearted and rushed, even borderline impolite. Your staff, especially the males, need to be trained to understand that the customer is King and is the hand that feeds everyone, both staff and owners. Buck up.
Let's start with the decor - rustic and a throwback. In these times of restricted travel, entering the restaurant transports you to a different era and location. You wouldn't think that you are still in Singapore, especially since looking down the street before entering you see shophouses. within the restaurant there are a fair number of items for viewing pleasure. My family got the set menu which is mostly determined by the chef save that we could choose between ayam buah keluak and ayam ponteh. I got the buah keluak which was nutty and the sauce was strong and fragrant. Other notables are the chap chye, soup and dessert kueh. These reminded me of my ahma's cooking (and I love you ahma (RIP) but perhaps it was even better). We added on the otah (fragrant and filled with chopped seafood), tapioca kueh with fresh durian (durian was substantial and not too sweet) and chendol (not bad but I prefer stronger Gula melaka aromas).
The taste of the food was top notch, no surprise that this place got a michelin star. Staff was also very friendly and humble. The atmosphere is also stunningly beautiful and reminiscent of the olden peranakan times. The piano playing just added to the quaint feel of the place. Just that, as expected the pricing does cost a pretty for peranakan food. Overall would visit again for a fancy dinner!
Authentic peranakan restaurant Very traditional in terms of decoration and the usage of spices I like the staff is friendly and fresh ingredient Happy here
Master class of Peranakan cuisine and history We loved our experience at the True Blue. Nas and Terry were super attentive and service was excellent. While we waited for our food, Terry invited us to a room (kind of a mini museum) where he explained more about the Peranakan culture with several examples of the art of Peranakan bead work. Food was excellent. We ordered Jatong Pisang (banana flower salad), Itek Sio (duck with sweet coriander sauce) and Ayam Buah Keluak (chicken with this dark nut). The Buah Keluak is a traditional nut that is buried with ashes and banana leaves for 40 days to cook and remove any poison. Taste is incredible. Every dish was a nice surprise. We have been to many famous Peranakan restaurants in Singapore but this felt very authentic and the food was amazing. Overall a fantastic gastronomic and cultural experience. We will come back.
A great place to enjoy Peranakan food with love ones and be soaked in the live piano music in the background and given a walk through of Peranakan Culture.
Nice and cozy place. Feels like someone invited me to their grandma’s house for a meal. Food is very traditional. Staff are nice and friendly. The waiter was carefully explaining the history of the dishes and the ingredients to us.
