Maya Resort was an excellent break from everyday stressful life. Amazing ocean front resort on beach and the views and sound from the Great Indian Ocean were splendid! Beyond the relaxing atmosphere of the resort, the next best part was the fantastic food and excellent service and the preparation made for superior tasting. The staff was very attentive and friendly. A wonderful beach vacation.
Very friendly staff,grate food & hotel view is very nice..i think best sea view resort in the area.And thanks a lot kavindu you played our favorite musics tracks..we really enjoy our holiday .Thank you all again..

we had a really wonderful time at maya beach resort. altough big parts are under construction, the area seems to be a crow hot spot & its kind of a walk to get to most restaurants there - the people who are working at maya beach are just lovely & the pool is AMAZING. they took really good care of us, were always open for a nice chat and wake up with a smile! if you don’t expect some luxury vacation hot spot & just want to chill on the beach (or at the pool) we highly recommend to go there. we do wish them all the best for the future & that all issues around finishing the hotel construction will be solved soon! lots of love from Dan & Miriam

This review is long overdue but i finally thought ai have to address the issues that is going on with this establishment. The hotel is situated in Uppuweli, one of the quiet neighbourhoods in Trincomalee. This is one of the only hotels that has a rooftop pool which is very nice to enjoy the sunsets. However the lack of hygiene of the rooms and amenities kinda ruined our whole holiday. Well that was the start. The owner Athula, should realize that he is a married man. He sounds charming at first with all the "yogi" attitude he maintains but he is a liar. He makes inappropriate advances on women and it is quiet pathetic. When his charms won't work he becomes hostile. These guys are only after the money and lust. I left as soon as I booked another hotel couple blocks away. And from what I've gathered from the people who were working on there, owners doesn't pay the salaries on time, the staff meals are messed up and they constantly accuse their workers so they can dire them without paying a penny.
The beach is beautiful and is perfect for a beach party. The hotel staff is friendly, and may help you in organizing events there. The food and drinks are also available in the hotel. Evenings on this beach can offer a great view of sunset.
