We were in the area and were planning to have lunch out. We stopped here. Good choice. We had a great choice of food and it was home made. Have the chips - really have the chips - they were divine. All of the food was lovely and large portions. The staff were all friendly and keen to help.

A deceptive gem! The pub is pretty standard but the food if first class. Saw the reviews and thought we would give it a go, was not disappointed! There is a lot of competition in the area which is great, I would highly recommend this pub and will definitely visit again.
Had a lovely meal here. The Italian chicken was delicious. A characterful pub with a friendly atmosphere. Would have been a good idea to have some disposable menus printed so that you didn't have to keep putting a mask on to go and look at the menu board, but despite that we look forward to going again after the current lockdown restrictions end.
All precautions applied for social distancing and contact numbers and names for follow-up if necessary. Most importantly the service was friendly, professional and the roast dinners for all three diners was excellent.
Perfect if you want a quiet out of the way, no frills, no TV, restaurant that does homemade food. Service a little slow but is made up by the tasty food. They even do a few puddings with custard. I had 'Jam Roly Poly', was lovely and reminded me of school days. Will definitely visit again.
