Took father-in-law to the Olive Tree this week for his birthday. He (and we) loved it. We booked in advance, but tables were available on the day, so don't be put off. Things have settled down now schools are back, so while busy, there was plenty of space. You have to go to the counter to order, where they have new glass screens, but they bring the food and drinks out. Staff were very kind and thoughtful, were cleaning like demons in between but it didn't stop them smiling, and food was good. We had fish and chips - lovely quality fish and nice batter, on top of a few (extremely chunky) chips (don't really need that many), small bowl of mushy peas and some tartare sauce - very tasty and extremely filling. I couldn't resist, and did try the Beetroot cake - lovely and moist, and the ice cream was great. Look forward to bringing the in-laws back again soon for cake - so much choice! Thank you all.
Don't mind visiting this place at all as it's nice and open but do take a hat if there is a cold wind. There are plenty of plants to choose from in the summertime and you will find they have a good selection of vegetable seedlings at the appropriate time of year. They have separate buildings for where they have a furniture display and a cafe.
Always lovely food and a warm welcome. The cafe is a step above any other garden centre cafe, with some great quality food
