Boring bit...Covid safe if anyone is worried, please don't let that particular thing hold you back. The good stuff...food is very, very tasty, very well presented, and very well priced, clearly they chefs/owners use quality produce and know how to make the most of it. Even the tenderstem broccoli showed the level of care that's being paid to the produce. I've had the fortune of eating a several Michelin starred restaurants over the years, I'd struggle to tell the difference with the Lamb I had tonight. Was delicious. The starter was delicious. The pudding was delicious. The decor is relaxed in the right way, the service was apt and unobtrusive, the ambiance was ideal as well. Lovely selection of well priced wines, couple of South American reds which is always a good shout. Can't really recommend The Waddling Duck enough, especially in Torquay which, other than Number 7 and The Elephant (first that come to mind), is lacking in high quality restaurants, you have to give this place a try and soon! 5/5

What an absolute Gem. This place is a locally owned, small, well decorated restaurant, serving high quality food at reasonable prices. The service is good, the toilets are clean and modern. As you can work out, I loved it. Our starters , mains, desert and wine were stunning. I can't recommend it enough. Plus it's not a chain, it's local. I hope everyone will support this business and help it thrive. I'd love to go here again soon.

Lovely room with tables spaced out for social distancing. Warm and friendly welcome. Very good atmosphere - the restaurant was full but service never suffered for a second. Wonderful food served with enthusiasm and pride and well justified. We had a fabulous evening and would totally recommend the Waddling Duck Bistro.

A fantastic little bistro. We had the most tender steak with a great wine. The Bistro is small and intimate and simply lovely. Food was top notch. We would reccomend.

Wish there was a sixth star! We both loved this place (romantic dinner on a Saturday night). The dishes were all incredible, served on hot plates and the timing in-between dishes was just right. We shared nibbles (sun-dried tomatoes, olives, warm bread rolls with olive oil & vinegar); and starters (cheese soufflé & monkfish bites). I simply cannot overemphasize how amazing everything was, the staff were friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. The mains were equally fantastic (my BF loved the tournedos Rossini, whereas I had the chicken supreme), and we shared the cheeseboard (superb combo of Cheddar, Oxford Blue & brie with preserved figs, onions and chutney). The selection of wines was reasonably priced and interesting (we had the 2016 Valpolicella, an excellent and rich match to our dishes). I would gladly go there once a month if I lived nearby. Strong recommend!!!
