Somewhat disappointing. The only saving grace was my lobster roll was very good. Otherwise this would be a 1 star review. Other than that, my New England “clam” chowder was more like a cup of white gravy with 3 pieces of potato and 1/2 a clam. (Yes I counted) I’ve had better clam chowder from a Campbells soup can. My stuffed mushrooms had 0 seafood and tasted like they were stuffed with cookies. (TERRIBLE) My draft beer had brown flakes in it. Even showed it to the server. My bottled beer was warm, and still paid full price for everything. I was expecting great NE seafood and the dishes overflowing with seafood and flavor. Was mistaken. At least for the appetizers and chowder. Oh yeah, we were 1 of 3 tables in the whole place.

Service and value are excellent. The food is good, but not great--I suppose it that's to be expected for the price. Great venue (view of the ocean) uncrowded. Staff are attentive and polite. I recommend this place for families, groups, and those on a budget. Will return. NOTE: I only tried one dish, perhaps the others are much better.
Excellent Restaurant. Top of the Bay not only has excellent food, it had several choices to pick from, all delicious, and the view just topped it off! We had a group of 5. We were greeted with a smile and our waiter was very pleasant and funny. The Calamari Appetizer was delicious. I had the Lobster Bisque soup, I wish I would have ordered the bowl, not the cup! LOL.... For dinner, our party had a couple of Fish and Chips, Lobster Roll, Lobster Ravioli, and I had the Fruit of the Sea... All delicious. We also celebrated a birthday in where the staff came out singing! We then had Carrot Cake and Espresso Martini... They have recently added a take out window for the convenience of ordering to go as well. When I go to Rhode Island again, I will be there for sure! Thank you for an awesome experience!
With all of the sliding doors open and where they sat us it was like a wind tunnel. We asked if they could close them a little and was told no. If I wanted to eat with a coat on I would have gone to an outside dining restaurant. We asked to move to another table which we did but they didn't help move anything. They brought our food and when I asked where our calamari appetizer was we were told that they didn't put it in because we moved tables. I would not recommend this place. Next time I will skip this place and go to Iggy's across the street because the food is much better and so is the service.
First time in a long time since I was at Top of the Bay. I was there for lunch and what a great deal they have going on. 2 clam cakes cup of chowder a meal and little dessert. 12 bucks you can't beat it. The food was terrific, we started with calamari it was light not dry, excellent. Fish and chips also nice and light no grease, excellent. Chowder was very good. I'll say the service was top notch, the guy was on it. So lunch was a easy 10. The view of the bay is a 10.
