We stayed overnight at the Choctaw Lake Recreation Area in the middle of September while traveling the Natchez Trace Parkway. Beautiful campground with level sites, views of the lake and well cared for grounds. There were improvements going on since the regular season was over but they didn't interfere with camping. Host greeted us right away and was very nice and informative about the lake. A terrific vacation place. Definitely going back next year.
