Amazing medieval style ambiance. Staff is very welcoming. The right place to eat after a walk around the city.

Excellent medieval tavern. Feel like right out of Middle Earth. Good vegetarian options. Or hunters rabbit for hobbits ;)

We were told to wait for a table and that it was going to be quick. Having done a long journey to get to Tomar we were relieved to get lunch quickly but after 30mins waiting outside on the heat they came to tell us the kitchen was closed after all.. after that we found out most places close at 3pm in Tomar. If we had been told as soon as we arrived that the kitchen was closed, we could have found an alternative to have lunch in time.

When I walked in it was very cozy. Each table had some candles to give some suddle light because there was no other light source. The food was the best. Normally I do not like vegetables but those ones I loved them, they were very good with the pork.

Someone recommended Taverna Antiqua and we decided to try it... and it was the best decision we took all week! Super friendly, helpful and fun staff, great food and drinks, and amazing decor. We absolutely loved it and highly recommend it.

Unique place that captures the medieval feeling of Tomar, with some representations, medieval music, very nice staff and tasteful food. The representations takes us directly to a funny conversation of two knights Order of Christ and to a discussion between a medic and a priest during the plague, for example. The environment is epic and it's hard to forget, for the good reasons. Highly recommended.

Excellent dinner! We had been in Portugal for about two weeks and needed something a bit different, and this was perfect! Traditional recipes but not traditional Portuguese specifically. Had the beef with witch sauce, lamb, and drunken pear - all wonderful. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Make this a stop while in town!!

Good service. Nice place. Chestnut soup very delicious. Taste of main course could be more intensive (pork, lamb, veg. pillow).
