Impressive big part of history. Huge buildings and nice garden. In November the oranges in the garden looks awesome.

Sitting high on a hill-top in Tomar, this imposing walled Convent and Castle Complex is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Originally built as a Templar Stronghold in the 12th century, it was turned into a Roman Catholic Convent in the 14th century. It looks very impressive inside and out. I highly recommend your visits. There have been many photos uploaded already. I have attached a few with this review too.

Such an unforgettable place. 2 hours away from Lisbon and you can find yourself in this thrilling place. Convent of Christ that will remind you a bit of Game of Thrones movie :) Really interesting to walk around the long corridors and different floors. Really interesting and exciting to see it. It is located in Tomar city, which also has couple of nice old streets.

Man was this place amazing. One of the best decorated churches I've ever entered. The best part of this place is they have an intact kitchen you can tour as well. This is something that is always missing in other places and churches

Amazing site to go back in time and learn about the Templars and their relation with Portuguese kings. When are the “Charole”, note a long wooden Pipe and guess what was it for? For extras ask “Isabel” (lady stamping tickets)? She will bring out some interesting facts. If she doesn’t mending, ask her where all the gold came from.

One of the prettiest places to visit in the center of Portugal. Also check the Templar history of the convent up to the XVI/XVII century. Both the rotunda and the Manuelina Window are very much worth to see.

What can I say...It's history right at your feet...I went early in the morning right when it opened...Not many people...The serenity and beauty of the convent was truly memorable for me...
