Having been to Japan there are somethings I find myself missing to the point of checking the prices on flights for a very expensive weekend away. One of the biggest things I miss is the food, and Toh Zan has easily saved me thousands of dollars in flights by having some of the most authentic Japanese food I've been able to find in the valley. All jokes aside, I love this place. Nowhere else that I have found does such a good job replicating the food I enjoyed in Japan and I find myself craving it all the time. Everything I have eaten from the menu is delicious but if I had to recommend something for people who are new to Japanese food I would have to say try the Kastu-don, It is probably what I order most when getting food to go and is very western palate friendly. It's basically a fried pork cutlet served over rice with a delicious sweet oniony sauce, what's not to like? Based on my experience though everything on the menu is good so it pays to be adventurous. The owner of Toh Zan is a very kind man from Nagasaki Prefecture and has been super nice to me every time I stop in. He humors me by letting me speak the very little Japanese I can manage with great patience. He often will remind me that I still need to visit Nagasaki some day and I hope I can soon. This is a really great family restaurant and I truly appreciate them for their delicious authentic food and being such good people. Please give Toh Zan a try!

I had read about this place in the newspaper and had been wanting to try it out, with covid I went inside, listened to his recommendations and place my food order, very polite and brought my food out to me.. all I can say is wow, so far everything I have tried has been amazing and I honestly look forward to going back to try their other dishes.
This place is wonderful! My husband and I have ordered from Toh Zan Grill twice now and both times we have been blown away by the food and service. The owners are so sweet, and it is evident that they truly care about the quality of their food and creating a good experience for their customers. We are so happy to have found this gem!
Thank you. Thank you for opening this fine restaurant. The chef really knows what they are doing and builds some wonderful flavor in their dishes. I had the chicken katsu-don lunch special and everything was incredibly delicious and cooked to perfection. I cannot stress enough how impressed I am with how much flavor they pack into their dishes. The dumplings, the chicken skewer, the katsu-don. My only regret is I was so excited to dig in after I smelled the delectable aromas coming from the bag as I opened it, I forgot to take pictures.
They offer a lot of dishes you typically won't find at other Japanese restaurants, think more so Japanese home cooking. They do offer sushi but I highly recommend any of their Dons. This is a small business, run by the sweetest Japanese couple you will ever meet. There is a reason they have such a high rating, if you're missing a taste of Japan this is the place.
