First check out the opening time and reservation requirement - for Tuesday dinner it is by reservation only and it's closed on Wednesdays and last Tuesday of the month. You can always book online or ring up the nice manager who can communicate in English. It's a small restaurant and the food quality is definitely top notch, although price wise probably not the best bang for bucks. Overall a pleasant experience especially if you want to go beyond the street food.

I discovered this place while walking around Nishiki Market. The location is intimate and quiet, making you forget the markets are just 50 ft away. I had already written off eating a Kaiseki meal, since pretty much everywhere was fully booked. This definitely met all the requirements, and doesn't require reservations! My meal was a 6 course (Lunch Set), but they offer 8-9 course Dinner Sets. The food is all locally sourced from the market. The service is top notch, in no way intrusive and very accommodating. The food was amazing, each dish slowly climbing in flavor and complexity. The prices are extremely reasonable, around 5,000 yen per person, and that includes all taxes and fees. Drinks do cost extra, around 700 yen each, however there were a couple of drinks also included as part of the set. This place is worth a visit, outperforming many of the Michelin restaurants I have visited. The staff speaks English and is foreigner friendly. The meal was the best part of my first vacation in Japan, and I will definitely return at some point in the future!

落ち着いた雰囲気のお店で、店員さんのお心遣いも素晴らしかったです。 もちろんお料理もキレイで美味しかったです。8,000円のコースをいただきましたが、ボリュームもちょうど良くて大満足でした。
4月7日に予約の取れない店祇園ささきの新業態が錦市場の路地奥にOPEN錦の新鮮な食材を使い昼はコース 夜は食材を見ながら選んでる注文する割烹スタイル 昼のコースを頂きました。リピート間違いなしの美味しい料理 鮫島料理長ご馳走様でした。
華やかな盛り付けで食べるのがもったいない！ お出汁も上品でとても美味しかったです。お店の雰囲気も落ち着いていて、ゆったりとお食事が出来ました
