A small LA eatery specializing in Oaxacan cuisine. -- Tacos: We got to try the chorizo & egg, grilled chicken, and chicken tinga tacos. My favs had to be the chicken tacos (both types). The meat is just so tender and flavorful and the toppings paired well. Chorizo Torta: the chorizo packs a lot of flavor which is balanced well with the Oaxacan cheese and avocado. I just wish the bread was more toasted to add some nice texture! Guac & chips: super fresh, no complaints here! Jamaica agua fresca & Horchata: both were super refreshing on a hot day. The horchata wasn't heavy on cinnamon, which I personally liked. they have lots of sauce options to go with your food! Be sure to taste test them before using bc some of them are HOT! Not much of a seating area and it gets HOT inside so you're better off taking togo and eating at home!

Fantastic Mexican food! I can see why its reviews are so strong! We loved our little booth with a little roof over it. Even though we were in a busy (and a little noisy) restaurant, it felt very distinct.

So good! The black molé was mild in spice and a very pleasant blend of sweet and savory. It’s gluten free too! The rice had the slightest bit of flavor that kept me wanting more and the homemade corn tortilla was warm, a little thick, and delicious. I recommend!

After hearing great things about Tlayuda L.A. from our foodie friends, we decided to take a trip from the valley. The food is so worth the drive! The employees were friendly and made sure we were taken care of. The food all tasted fresh and delicious. The four salsas were unique and there is something for every spice level. We ordered: Tlayuda supreme: The meats were all flavorful and cooked perfectly. The cheese was fresh and the veggies were nice and crunchy. Paired with the salsas, this was a really satisfying dish to eat. It is a nice, big portion. I will definitely order this again. Enchiladas mixtas: We loved that we could try all three types of enchiladas in one plate. That's not usually offered at other restaurants and is a big plus. It was a tie, but the green and red enchiladas were our favorite. The chicken inside was tender and flavorful. The sauces had nice spice to them and the whole plate tasted authentic. The mole was full flavored and sweet. We enjoyed the rice which complimented the enchiladas well. Flan: This is the BEST flan I have ever had, and I have eaten a lot of flan in my life. I would drive here all the time for this flan. The texture, flavor, and caramel in the middle are all perfection. Do your mouth a favor and try the flan. You can thank me later :) Cheesecake: The cheesecake was fantastic. The caramel complimented the flavor of the crust. It was a close second to the flan. Aguas frescas: All the aguas frescas are really good, but the jamaica is my absolute favorite. It is not too sweet and full of flavor. Super refreshing! Brewchata: The brewchata has a nice flavor of coffee with the cinnamon flavor of horchata. They pair well and we loved the presentation of the drink. We are happy to support a women owned and operated business and will definitely be back again! I will be dreaming of the tlayudas and flan until then. ju
