This place makes consistently delicious food! Their customer service is also superb. I noticed my favorite item (roasted half-chicken) wasn’t available on Door Dash so I called the restaurant and they added it back on for me! Very few things bring me joy in 2020, but Tio Mateo’s is one of them.

This restaurant is seriously catering to the non authentic market. I asked for no sour cream and I get sour cream. Corn tortilla tacos? a single tortilla for the taco instead of double like every other taco. The refried beans are obviously from can. My order did not even come with limes, and I did ask for tomatoes and onions, never showed up in the order. My friend got the enchiladas and they are somewhat okay with the exception of the sour cream asked not to get. Usually when a place as gourmet it is never gourmet. A real gourmet place doesn't advertise that
I got a chicken burrito and a steak quesadilla. Pros: Good pricing and lots of flavor options for Jarritos. The steak quesadilla was good. Cons: Dry chicken and very Americanized Mexican food. They didn’t have chips and queso. Summary: Chipotle is so much better. I could make better food at home. The food at the restaurant wasn’t bad. Don’t get the chicken. Get the steak.
I have recently found this place and I'm excited I had the Del Mar burrito extra shrimp absolutely delicious whoever cooks that shrimp is a World Champ super excited to have this in the area and the prices are fantastic
The food is always so good whatever you get. Feel like a burrito it's awesome. Feel like chicken salad it's also awesome. Went there one day not expecting much and came out pleasantly surprised. The new location is down the street is really nice and they also now serve beer and wine.
