The menu and food always used to be pretty good so I don't know if the chef has changed or something but what a disappointment the food was last night; cold and overpriced. At 16 for the roast turkey option I'd at least expect a decent hot serving of food other than the tepid minimalist offering that was on the plate. I don't usually complain and it was edible, just, but had to mention something at the end and the response, 'I'll let the chef know and can't do a lot about it now' didn't really cut it. I won't be eating there again, such a shame as the venue is lovely and it wouldn't take much to make it so much better

Great food, great prices, staff extremely helpful with brilliant service, very clean environment. Visited again for a birthday meal, wow, food and service was amazing. You really need to try this place

The way we see it: the chef should get a raise, the waitresses should get a new manager. A bit of an extra effort would make it a great place.

Food was absolutely delicious, were super helpful as one of the party was a vegan! We had all three courses at lunch to which actually was very nice after a windy walk, lunch was a very relaxed experience. The staff were all so friendly and kept checking on everyone.. will definitely eat here again the next time we are in Dartmoor!

Generally excellent food, staff very friendly but not as attentive as you would hope considering how many of them there were milling around. Tables situated near bar area are very noisy and in a sort of thoroughfare which isn’t ideal. My sons chicken strips were frankly inedible. He only complained to me after eating a few and I tried them and can’t believe he ate any. The rest of the meal was excellent though, fish perfectly cooked and steak in steak baguette was tender and just what you want.
