Absolutely adore Timbers. The staff are fantastic, they're all really friendly and kind. Never judged me coming in post nightshift looking half dead for an amazing fry up. I'd bring all my friends and family here when they visited and they all loved it. One of the few places I miss since leaving Colchester.
Good ambience, friendly service. Had the beef stew with dumplings - flavourful comfort food but could be more tender. The mushroom & onion quiche however could be improved - biscuit base tasted stale & almost had an alkaline taste to it. Filling was soft, tender and full of flavour though!
What a funny little place. During the eat out to help out scheme, they were more than happy to cram their tiny little poorly ventilated establishment with as many punters as possible without any concern for public health. And now look where we are. It is because of the attitude of places like this that we are now looking at a second lockdown.
Definitely a go-to place for breakfast! Had the vegetarian breakfast and it was delicious. The service was very friendly too and the place quite cosy in general. Will definitely visit again!
