Excellent food! Really enjoyed it. Had fois gras and filet de boeuf. Perfect taste and preparation, as it looked good, too. Great wine selection and good advise. Very friendly staff, nice house dog. Decoration of the restaurant also nice. Big sunny terrace in the back. Prices decent.

Nice place. Big veranda for the summer. French food only, Scavone adult clients. A bit expensive, but the food is tasty. To be tried; the Norwegian omelets. Also the strawberry sorbetto is very good. At least 35 euro per person.
Excellent food although the best service is reserved for the locals as is usual in other venues in the region. If you are a tourist expect to wait a long time to be served. It took us over one hour from ordering to food on the table. Other than that the staff was exemplary, polite and attentive.
It is simply amazing how slow the service be.... The food is not that great given the prices. Asking simple things to the staff takes 20 minutes. I do not recommend. Edit: and they replied to my review faster than it took them to give me a single ice cream ball! I'm speechless.
Good food. Good service. Generous portions.
Love the set menu, ambiance proper french and Risotto was awesome
Au Tilleul Positives: Ambiance, service, food, child friendly. Negatives: None to speak of. Decor/Ambiance/Service: Relatively large restaurant on the border between Bourgfelden (Saint-Louis) and Basel. It’s sizeable inside and also has a large external seating area for warmer evenings. We were welcomed by a staff that was never less than professional and at most times also warm and friendly. We were quickly offered paper and crayons for the kids. I’m not that keen on this approach as it smacks a bit of 'Fast Food', but I have to say that it served us well. Ambiance was good in a way that meant that we never felt that time was important. Service was friendly, attentive and well timed. Food: The menu was interesting and varied although it seemed to be similar to the last time we visited over a year ago. We ordered Magret de Canard as a starter and Emincé Rostti, Entrecote de Boeuf and Filet de Sandre for main dishes. The Emincé de Boeuf came with a salad which was brought to the table early so that the kids could share it with the Magrét. Both were very tasty. Despite the Magret de Canard being tasty, there wasn’t very much 'Canard'. The Entrecote, Sandre and Emincé were excellent. For desert we ordered Café Gourmand, Creme Brulée and Vacherin Glace. The creme brulée was very good and the Vacherin Glace was excellent (I’d recommend that others try it). I didn’t taste the Café Gourmand although it did look good. For drinks we ordered only water (500ml bottles) and fruit juice. The water was 3 euros for 500ml, which seems a high price. Fruit juice was also 3 euros. We were pleased with the food and the overall experience of eating at Au Tilleul and are happy to recommend it to others. I’d also recommend making reservations in advance as it is a justifiably popular restaurant. It is also worth noting that it is open on Sundays.
Very nice 3 course lunch for 15
