A natural wonder and free to visit. Some lovely walks in a beautiful area. A steep walk up and quite slippery, so decent footwear is a good idea. To get to the the cave was only a 20 minute walk from where we parked. Well worth a walk up to see the cave, you can get inside and walk round. We parked by Wetton Mill, there's a coffee shop and toilets.

Amazing!! Such beautiful views, an easy walk (not difficult in terms of energy). Incredibly muddy though so make sure you wear the proper footwear and bring a change of clothes!
Cool hole in a rock feature that is quite unexpected as you round the path and look up. Quite well subscribed on the day of our visit and with just a little rain it was quite boggy at the entrance. The mud was drawn along the slopping cave floor which made it very slippery and led to everyone carrying home muddy mementos of their visit.
Stoney path upwards, slippy and dangerous in places with care needed and decent footwear. Getting into the Cave was a scramble, footholes were slippy and wide apart and there were obvious slidey places. Head torch recommended. Limestone Cave formed between 280 and 360 million years ago and during this time, the area would have been submerged under a warm, shallow sea. The hillside would have been a reef. It has been used for shelter for humans and a Bronze Age Burial was excavated here. Also by animals with. Giant Red Deer and Bear bones found nearby. The surrounding woods are Hazel trees.
Awesome place, can get very busy when sunny and very popular. When busy can be difficult to find a car parking space. Beautiful views and scenery. Well recommend a visit
