We took out the Cheshire Cat for a long weekend. I had been on narrow boat holidays as a child but never skippered one. There was a thorough handover with a demonstration on how to turn the boat around, then off we went. The boat was very clean and well maintained. We had a great time. When planning routes and destinations, take into consideration only being allowed to travel during daylight hours!

Wonderfully friendly, thorough instruction, clean and Covid-secure. Well equipped, especially the waterproofs and deck chairs which were unexpected. Bridge water canal was great as a first experience on a canal boat because of no locks and width of the canal.
Had a wonderful 5 days meandering up and down the Bridgewater Canal. Nigel was fantastic and the boat was immaculate and very well equipped. Would highly recommend.
Purchased fuel and used elsan facilities plus bought chandlery . Elsan facilities spotless, well stocked chandlery and super friendly staff. Highly recommend Thorn Marine
Thorn marine being a family run business, established through 2 generations, is a reliable, friendly and supportive canal business. Day boat hire, Chandlers, fuel and gas. Nigel is also a BSC tester, one of the most reliable and considerate one since Brian Hayes. I recommend all the offer.
