I joined Skeldale Vets practice on the reputation I have read about. On this particular visit I came to seek assistance regarding my cat Kitty. Kitty had begun to drop weight. The name of the vet who is looking after Kitty is Katherine. Katherine reassured me throughout the visit and gave me the feeling that Kitty was in good hands. Kitty was in for blood tests. I got Kitty back and we waited for the results. Katherine called that evening to give us the results, Katherine had also provided reassurance and some level of treatment that may help Kitty. So far kitty has picked up in her general well being which is a great comfort to us both. I would like to pass on my thanks to Katherine and her colleagues, the level of empathy is very welcoming. We have been looked after very well by all.

Our Jack Russell was very ill, they had us rush her in to been seen straight away and is now very much on the mend! They couldn't do enough for us! And I think even the staff where sad to see her go when she left. Thanks again all at Skeldale, another great experience!!

My experience of this vets has changed dramatically, I found some of the vets to be inexperienced at best, negligent at worst and I believe this led to my dogs illness being misdiagnosed. He had three visits so they had three opportunities to get it right!! Having paid them over 600 my dog was still suffering symptoms. I took the decision to get a second option and thank goodness we did. My dog has now been correctly diagnosed and treated (at a cost of less than 100) and thankfully he is on the mend. I wrote directly to Skeldale to give them an opportunity to explain and all they came back with was untrue comments and excuses, certainly no apology or offer to put anything right. They replied saying I had declined further investigations and this is not true as I took their 'professional advise' at all times. Also my dog had three examinations, three urine samples, a blood test and a scan and they still failed to find the problem. The fact is the additional tests have been proven to be unnecessary as my dog was diagnosed within a normal routine appointment with no need for samples, blood tests or scans. There is simply no excuse for this, it is appalling. Truthfully the money side of this is disappointing but the unforgivable part is the fact that my dog has had prolonged suffering of an illness which was easily and correctly diagnosed by another vet. Clearly I would not use this vets again, nor would I recommend them to anyone else.
