It was just a coincidence that during our dinner I noticed Mr. Spiros taking his horses home. He kindly organized the ride for the next morning. We spent an unforgettable hour around Perissa. (riding possible only in the morning and in the evening, so that the horses are more calm and it is not hot outside). I'm not a horse specialist, and these were among the slimmer I've seen, but I definitely don't agree with the claims these animals were abused. Mr. Spiros lives with his horses and for his horses. It is actually a family that has been cared for for generations. His relationship with animals is unquestionable and horses love him, understand him, kiss him ... His relationships with the locals are also great, everyone is enthusiastically saying hello, they are waving at each other with Spiros. He will spend hours to tell you about his horses and more. This season, the stable is certainly in a difficult situation, Mr. Spiros immediately explained to us that he would spend all the money on animal feed. Therefore, if you are nearby and you like horses, be sure to stop there, even if you don't go for a ride. Thank you again Mr. Spiros, your dedication is amazing and me and mum, we were really happy. Wishing you and your horses great health.

We had a really great horse riding experience with Mr Spiros and his horses to the beach. Beautiful tall horses, very friendly and calm, for every level. I cannot relate to previous comments, since we found the horses in good and healthy shape. We can definitely recommend his place.

I have been involved in stable management and have been riding horses in the UK since the age of 6. I was lucky enough to visit Santorini last month with my parents and prior to our visit we rung Mr. Syrigos from London letting him know that I would be coming for some horse riding in a week's time. The horses were incredibly well kept, healthy and extremely affectionate towards their owner (we witnessed one licking his ear whilst being groomed). We did not see any signs of the horses being mistreated in any way - I would recommend that you visit the horses yourself which is very easy to do as the stable is approachable from the main road right next to the bus stop (all the horses can be observed from the main gate). I rode twice during my stay and on each occasion Mr. Syrigos suggested that we go very early in the morning for the best experience as the beach would be practically empty and it wouldn't be too hot - he was definitely not wrong. The views were spectacular and the experience was unforgettable! Although the Black Beach at Perissa (were I rode) does not have a firm terrain, the horses behaved very well and were easy to control. This horse riding experience is by far the best one I've ever had to date. As a person we found Mr. Syrigos to be very friendly, easygoing yet highly professional and you can tell that he genuinely loves his horses. Our observations were confirmed by Katarina (daughter of the owner of nearby God's Garden restaurant) who told us that Mr. Syrigos lives for his horses and will never leave them even if it's to go abroad on holiday. I would highly recommend Florida horse riding to anyone staying near Perissa Beach in Santorini!

The horses looked very healthy and fine and the owner also was really nice. It was possible to do a riding Tour at the Beach as a beginner or not-rider.when we called him , the owner came very spontaneously and during the Trip he tried to take the Perfect picture with us and the horses at the Beach. The price was also very good.

If you would like to contribute towards animal abuse, by all means use this establishment. I was absolutely disgusted and appalled at what I witnessed yesterday when passing ‘Florida Horse Ridding’.... there was a grey gelding, no bigger than 14hh in a small paddock behind the building situated on the long stretch of road heading towards the black beach. The gelding in question was covered in untreated pressure sores from head to foot, the paddock he was stood in was covered in droppings and the cut from an ill fitting girth was absolutely horrific! I have never witnessed a horse to be so broken and lifeless in my life - as you can imagine this was an extremely distressing to come across given I’ve owned horses all of my life. Further up the road, on a bit of waste land behind a quad rental company there were 3 larger horses tethered. Not one of them had water, a chestnut mare had a horrendous tooth abscess poking out of the right hand side of her face and a bay gelding was extremely ‘ribby’! It absolutely baffles me that anyone could get on these horses and not see an issue with it! Please for the horses sake, stay well clear!

The horses look extremely unhealthy. We can see their ribs and some are even bleeding. They are several horses kept in a small space, they look depressed and beaten. Please do not go there! The owners should be reported. This is animal abuse.

As mentioned by several others, some of the horses look ill and starved, disturbing.
