Overpriced, boring and bland are the words best suited for the most overrated processed food takeaway in North Yorkshire. After just one bite I can realise the beef is not cut fresh in the shop because it’s chewy and dry like it’s been packaged somewhere else and then roasted terribly in the shop to be used throughout the day completely unchanged until it’s ran out. BORING. Can find much better food in both quality and quantity elsewhere in York.

Lots of fun and good York institution! The york wrap is one to be tried.
This is a really good idea and really enjoyed, just wish we had near me as i would have more often. The wrap was really tasty. The price was reasonable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend stopping for one.
Talk about medieval fast food. Wonderfully cooked joints of pork, beef, turkey and ham make wonderfully filling sandwiches. The pork sandwichs we had were superb with stuffing, apple sauce and gravy. We went to the York branch but have also visited the one in Chester sited in the Rows. All great locations that add to the charm.
So we wanted to try a Yorkshire pudding while we were in York and this was one of the few places that was open which wasn't a pub. Surprisingly the Yorkshire pudding was much bigger and more filling than I thought. My parents got pork and I got beef (which was slightly more expensive) but I'd recommend the pork over the beef since the pork was soft and tender while the beef was a bit stiff. Nice venue though, more seating upstairs too.
