Love it here. It is by far the best local pub! The staff are amazing! They are all so welcoming friendly and professional. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and is always clean and bright. The beer garden is gorgeous! The food is home made, fresh, delicious and great value. I can't recommend this place highly enough!!

We had a lovely main course here early this evening. I chose the Sunday roast and couldn't fault it. It was excellent: tender roast beef, tasty mash potatoes and - most importantly - freshly cooked roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings. So often in pubs, these are overcooked or reheated and unpleasant to eat - which makes a mockery of the whole 'roast' thing. But at The Woolpack, both were perfect! My hubby and friend both had fish and chips which they agreed were very good. It has good beer (we had the Wainwright) and staff are lovely. This isn't a restaurant - it's a pub with good food and with the attractions of a pub such as a dart's room, pool table and Sports coverage on the TV. The decor is very smart and I looked with envy at their sparkling clean windows! How often do you see that? Come the autumn it would be nice to see a fire going to make it a touch more cosy. A shame we didn't have time for a game of pool ... guess we'll just have to go back again.
