Stopped off in Cookham for a lunch, after a family walk along the tow path canvassing the riverside property! Curb appeal wasn’t floral, but this is a fantastic gastro pub! Menu awesome, service ubiquitous and easy. Kids opted for Fish and chips and smashed it with the greens! Highly recommend the cheek scampi. It was happy life with my partners healthy life style and nutritional whims clearly hitting the seal of approval. Fish options superb! You do pay to play but overall a great family experience with an excellent well designed interior space. I would expect we were very lucky to walk in, so I would recommend to book to avoid disappointment!

Really enjoyed our meal here. The atmosphere is nice and staff friendly and helpful. We had the deep fried squid and prawn cocktail starters, both of which were good, although nothing particularly special (although I suppose there isn't much you can do with those dishes!). We both had the skate wing special and it was excellent. The fish was fresh and tasty accompanied by a nice olive tapenade and sauce. If in Cookham, well worth a visit.
If you haven’t tried their roasts yet, it is a must! Definitely one of the best roasts I’ve had out. The service was good and quick, and the pub nice and clean.
We had a delightful dinner at the white oak. The shabby chic decor is crisp and inviting. The staff was quite friendly and personable. Every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection. Do yourself a favor and order the donuts for dessert.
We had a fantastic anniversary dinner here. The food was amazing and staff were lovely. The doughnuts were delicious!! Thank you for such a great evening!
