We had an absolutely wonderful meal here! I particularly enjoyed the fishcake starter with poached egg. Main course I would have liked a little more spicy but that is my personal preference. Super delicious homemade ice creams too. Overall superb meal and service. The team also make a mean Expresso Martini. It was the perfect way to finish off our meal. Loved it. Can't wait to head back.

Great wine, food and setting. Best calves liver. Spectacular smoked haddock scotch eggs. Lamb kofta, pan fried chicken livers and cod with beans. Every dish was delicious and perfectly cooked. Worth traveling for. Although we ate in the pub there is a beautiful dining room for special occasions.
Exceptional food and service. Recommend very highly. Had an early Christmas set meal 2020 and the setting was COVID safe while keeping a beautiful rustic pub aesthetic. Genuinely one of the best pork belly dishes I have had
I use to visit this pub 30 years ago when it had a superb reputation for its food. Those days are gone. The food was okay but not exciting and limited by its COVID menu. I would have given it three stars but my companion had 'Crispy chicken salad, five-spice, Asian slaw, toasted cashews, peanut dressing' claimed it was one of the best plates of food she has ever had.
