Close to town and very convenient this is a small country village pub serving both traditional English dishes as well as some more modern alternatives, everything is sourced directly from neighboring farms, home made and hand cooked and it shows. This place is close to town yet has the feel of being far out in the country both in distance and in history. A beautifully typical classic pub, warm and friendly, a small and dedicated team who are responsive and passionate about what they do, I have been here three times and honestly cannot find fault. As someone that loves traveling the English countryside in search of the finest food and drink I can honestly say it doesn’t get any better than this.

Amazing celebration cheesecake! Everyone loved it. Zoe was helpful in helping in getting it to us. Definitely not 'just' a pub, but one that does great food, service and celebration cheesecake
Popped in to this hostelry and was really impressed with...welcome, covid precautions, extensive menu and the fantastic fish and chips we ate in the garden. Not my usual choice but it is 'fish and chips Friday'! Fresh fish, light batter, with just the right number of chips and peas. Will go back.
Fantastic Sunday roasts, generous portions, a wonderfully warm welcome for the whole family, and very sensible COVID measures in place. Thoroughly recommended!
