I have visited the White Bear a couple of times since the latest post-lockdown reopening and I have not been disappointed. In addition to the regular menu they are now offering a COVID 19 regulation compliment “substantial meal” light menu, at very sensible prices, I have to say the food I have tried is really first class. This together with a great range of drinks including real ale makes it a great place to visit especially in these dark days. It’s time for the town to support the pubs who remain open for us.
Lovely old pub, nicely decorated, friendly staff & the chicken stuffed black pudding wrapped in bacon with creamy peppercorn sauce was amazing!
