Attended on a Tuesday evening before the most recent December lockdown, I had phoned ahead to see what conditions were in place basically sit outside in the marquee first come first served , as we arrived shortly after the evening session started getting a table in the marquee was not an issue however it quickly filled it's quota. The marquee was heated with an overhead heater and a warm air blower so was warm enough with sensible clothing. Service was outdoor from a hatch, every one wore a mask unless seated. Service by the ladies on duty that night was good spirited given the C-19 precautions. I had 2 different real ales both were very good, a small selection of meals/ snacks was also available. The pub is situated on the canal however as it was dark I did not see much from the car park but will return again next year during daylight. Very satisfied with my experience, and enjoyed the beer.

To start this seems a really nice and friendly local pub.

First time of visiting since Covid lockdown and not disappointed. Very safe, careful table distancing, only two tables in the room were in. Bar in covered area outside and large marquee for people wanting just beer (might be a bit cold out there in the winter though - wrap up warm!). Beer excellent, as usual, food fabulous. Cannot fault this place.

Not the biggest selection of drinks at the moment, would love to see a craft ale on tap. They have moved to an outside bar and also a heated tent for outside drinking. Food only in the pub itself. We have started to visit the pub more regularly as they take social distancing and track and trace more seriously than most. Great when some in our small group are more vulnerable. Food hygiene rating of 5 to boot.

Always a good pint and open and friendly atmosphere...plus a lot of Morris Dancing I put it down as culture but entertaining to watch...
