Thankyou for a wonderful afternoon tea with a bit of a twist. The sandwiches are presented on 'rounds' of sliced baguette with a different topping on each. They are served on wooden chopping boards and beautifully presented. This works better than traditional sandwiches because you can really taste the delicious toppings. The scones come with a little iron pans of clotted cream & strawberry jam. Unlimited tea & coffee throughout! And the cakes are yummy. Really great. Xxx

The food here is excellent, as is the service. Whether it's a delicious breakfast, sandwich lunch, afternoon tea or gastro style evening meal you're after you won't be disappointed. Booking a table is a must as are the chunky chips.

I found this little cafe on Google and we visited here to break up our journey for a two night stay away so pleased we booked a table in advance it was fabulous fresh food and lovely friendly staff! Cakes are wonderful can taste the freshness and wish could return more often! Throughly recommend!! :-)

Last night we had a lovely meal at The Twisted Tree near Castleford. It had been recommended to us and had great reviews. The welcome we had on arrival was very warm, we were invited to sit inside our outside (seemed rude but to, while the sun was shining) and chose from the extensive drinks menu. I think the only thing missing was a Guinness, sadly, so we both had a Brewdog Vagabond, gluten free beer... lovely! We both chose new vegan options, a mixed vegetable salad and chips, with a chick pea, spinach and sweet potato curry with sweet potato fries. Wow... Wonderful food, especially the curry was really fantastic. Unfortunately we were too full for dessert, but managed to take some gluten free and dairy free cake home for the girls! An amazing evening, lovely atmosphere, great drinks, exceptional food, and all in a unique and surprising characterful restaurant between Castleford and the M62! We'll be back!
