We stopped off from our walk to have a drink and Turkey sandwich from the outdoor stall. The hot chocolate and Baileys was perfect on a cold afternoon and the turkey butty was just what the Dr ordered. Its so nice being able to have the chance to see people and have a drink from a pub at the minute that you really must go. A great idea and I can't wait to get back inside the pub soon I hope

The travellers rest is a very quaint, quality restaurant. The food here has such strong flavours it is distinctive to all other food choices. It has an upmarket, clean and efficient but welcoming atmosphere. It can house large parties and cope with them also. Staff are polite and fast and the head chef deserves appreciative commendations for the food prepared with much choice on the menus. Large car park at side and parking at the front too. A well managed treat restaurant definitely worth a visit.
Takeaway only at the moment. We have had 2 meals and both have been excellent. Food is full of flavour. Can't wait to visit the restaurant under normal circumstances!
Gazebo outside selling Turkey a.d stuffing sandwiches and mulled wine and free mince pies for all the dogwalkers. Happy for us to park on car park too. Lady serving was really nice too.
My first time at Travellers Rest but not my last. It was excellent. The staff were friendly. The atmosphere was really nice. It was very busy glad we booked a table. And the food oh my days it's gorgeous. I need to go again soon. I can't eat cheese and it's nice to find a menu with good old fashion proper food not covered in cheese. I had the salmon would recommend this but friends had liver and sea bass both were excellent. ( not on the same plate ). Now book a table and go you won't retreat it.
