I have a 14 year old Honda Fit. A while back, the clutch finally gave up the ghost. I looked online to find a clutch, pressure plate, bearings & flywheel and found everything in a kit for only 159. I then called around for quotes for installation. A few shops refused to quote a price using my parts and of those that did, John gave me the best price (650) . I had the car taken to the shop by a tow truck, left John the key and he told me he'd be in touch the following week. Unfortunately, upon cracking open the transmission, they discovered a cracked seal so that meant they would need to replace the seal (parts) and do additional unexpected work (labor). That basically doubled the overall cost that I was quoted but I told John to do what he needed to do to get things fixed properly. He had to order the seal, so it meant they would need the vehicle a little longer than anticipated but that was to be expected. John contacted me about a week later to let me know my car was ready for pick-up. All told, I spent 1,472 for the repairs (159 13 tax 1,300 at The Transmission Shop). And that included an unexpected additional repair costing 650. At least one of the shops i called for an estimate quoted me more than I paid, even with the seal replacement. Specifically, it was one of the shops that insisted they must supply the parts. (Obviously, that is how places like that pad their estimates. Not so at The Transmission Shop.) My little Honda Fit now shifts as smoothly and quietly as it did the day I rolled it off the lot when it was brand new. If you're unlucky enough to require transmission repair or just need a replacement clutch like I did, contact John at The Transmission Shop first. You'll be glad you did.

I brought my 89 Step side into The Transmission Shop to get it serviced and shifting right. The manager John talked with me and kept in contact with me through the whole process. They did an AWESOME JOB! And it came in under the original quote. I will Definitely be a repeat customer, and refer them to my friends. THANK YOU John and staff, Anthony

We appreciated how respectful John at the transmission shop was. He would call with updates and was up front about cost(no hidden fees) definitely felt peace of mind leaving our car there to be worked on. There’s a reason they have such glowing reviews! Would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone!

I was referred to The Transmission Shop by my Rowlett, TX, mechanic to investigate a probable transmission solenoid issue which was beyond their capabilities to troubleshoot: There were no “codes” evident at that time. I contacted the Garland location of The Transmission Shop who were able to take an initial look at my 2008 Sequoia that afternoon. The owner, Mike Adams, was at the store and arranged for a diagnostic evaluation, which found not only a faulty solenoid, but a probably problem with the torque converter. Do to shop loading, I was not able to bring the SUV back until the following Monday when the Store Manager, John, arranged to have the transmission pan dropped and the problem isolated. The job required a transmission re-build kit, a new filter, solenoid, new fluid, and Torque Converter. John had repairs completed within a couple days. I am thoroughly impressed with the techs at the Transmission Shop and their attention to detail. Likewise, the management attention by the owner and manager is worthy of note. The job was excellent, the 3 warranty ”welcome,” and the price reasonable. The Transmission Shop has my highest, unqualified recommendation for any make or model transmission work.
