First time I'd been here for a couple of years and booked for the lunchtime sunday roast. We first chose the foccia bread with cheese as a starter which was pleasant enough, but once you'd eaten the cheese (which there wasn't much of) with the bread, it was very very dry. It could have done with a tomato dip to accompany it really. The halloumi starter with the spicy sauce was a much better choice For mains we both had the roast beef which was 19 per head so I was expecting a bit of 'wow' but it wasn't really there. It was all nicely presented and hot, but it just lacked extra flavour whether in the gravy or the roast potatoes. Could have also been a bit more generous with the beef (I had 3 slices). Bit of a shame. I had the lemon cheesecake for dessert which was beautifully presented and tasted lovely. My friend had the crumble, but the apple and fig combination was so sweet (and I have a very sweet tooth!) with the icing sugar coating, one spoonful was enough. Staff were attentive and helpful and they have good COVID procedures and signage in place.

Sadly very disappointing! We usually really enjoy the food but my meal was really lacking - the rosemary potatoes had absolutely no rosemary! The salad was literally a few salad leaves, some onion & half a baby tomato!!! Such a disappointment! Staff always friendly & lovely festive feel but......!!!!
This place now renamed Little Alpine at Three Compasses and much improved since the new owners took over but due to a very small kitchen and a very precise and exacting chef, although the service is fine, the food takes a long time to arrive. I have now been back several times and the food is even better. Yes, you might need to be patient but it will be worth the wait. You will need to book! Highly recommend.
Nice country pub. The staff were very friendly and the pub has been kept clean and adheres to all the guidelines. I had a mixed feeling about the food, one of my starters was really good but the other dissapointing. We ordered the ricotta and spinach tortelloni for mains and it was a bit bland and lacked a bit of sauce. As people have mentioned, drink prices are a bit expensive...i ordered a camden pale ale and paid 6.50 for it, London city prices me thinks. Good thing I did not order the G and T cocktails, they are quite pricey. For desert we ordered the apple and forest berry fruit crumble, very delicious and mouth watering. The pub does have a nice atmosphere and lots of outdoor seating.
Had dinner here last night. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. I wish they didn't have to wear visors as I find it quite dehumanising to be served by someone in a visor. We ordered at 8pm and they unfortunately forgot to serve our starters. We got everything eventually by 9.15pm and the manager was kind enough to adjust bill due to the inconvenience. Will definitely go back. Food was excellent and good value.
