Great for lunch, have visited a few times now and the food is always great. Recommend the fish and chips, and the onion rings! Covid precautions are also good, staff wear masks and tables are wiped down regularly. There is a sign in sheet too.

I was sceptical about visiting as I've heard very very mixed reviews and was almost put off but due to the fact that we had booked, I decided to continue with my plans. Upon entering my party was told about the hr wait on food, that's fine as we could make the decision to wait or go elsewhere. I didn't time the wait but before our meals arrived we were given complimentary tortilla chips (that was a nice gesture and fortunately we didn't mind the wait) we were a party of 8 and I have to say there was not one complaint from anyone including the fussy 3 & 6yr olds. I have to say the food was well worth the wait, it was fresh and tasted good. The service was really good, all polite, friendly and well presented.
Highly rate this place 10 out of 10. Great service and welcome! Fish and chips were the best my hubby has had. My aunt loved the half portions of steak pie as a full portion would have been too much. I had a lovely half portion of macaroni cheese. Meals came with chips and salad, vegetables with the steak pie. Desert was yummy . Excellent value for money.
Staff doing their level best to cope with the shambles of constantly changing Scottish government restrictions in the Covid19 situation. The fish and chips with a pint for a tenner was excellent value, and very tasty too. Well worth a visit.
The food here is amazing and fresh as always; pricing is perfect and would highly recommend their \light bite\ menu or the Hunters Chicken - my favourite! Cheers to the Tavern staff for perfect service
