I have been a Robert Burns enthusiast since I was 15, I learned the whole of Tam o Shanter at 16. Apart from Auld Alloways Kirk and The Brig o Doon I never dreamed that the actual pub Burns was referring to has actually survived and part from Covid -19 still functions strongly as a pub to this very day. I wish I had realised that when I was younger.

Great old pub with much history great service.
We picked this place as it looked like a nice wee cosy spot. The food was a massive let down. We were looking forward to some home cooked food. We ended up with tasteless food which I can only describe as something you would get from Iceland. We were very disappointed.
Super friendly staff extremely accommodating. Waitress had us all settled with orders within seconds of ordering. Meals were absolutely delicious!! Very fair prices. Unfortunately I had never been here in 45 years of visiting Ayr. But we'll definitely be back. Extremely highly recommended! Wonderful establishment. The staff on duty, the waitress and the chef running the place are am absolute credit to this restaurant!! Such hard working and friendly people. Thank you!!
