I've been to The Swan a few times and during Covid it has changed slightly. At the stat of Covid they only allowed people to sit outside and you ordered your drinks when you come in, then pick them up at the next window. I went yesterday and now half of the inside is open. It's a really nice beer garden and definitely worth trying.
The new Indian menu here is absolutely delicious. So impressed. Fresh and flavourful. I highly recommend a visit. The only thing that let it down was their organisation of ordering to meet covid distancing requirements. All other places I have been to do table service, minimising movement. Here, you have to order at the bar and one person at a time - a pain if you are ordering separately but want to eat together and have to roam around the busy pub. It wasn't made clear when we arrived that that's what we needed to do so we waited quite some time before we got up and asked! The layout of the bar doesn't allow social distancing well if others are also ordering, with moving along to collect your drinks at the end of the bar. Also, there are arrows on the ground in some directions but not others. I would have given them 5* if they address the social distancing like everywhere else and do table service. Otherwise, definitely go try the food, it's amazing!
Really cozy atmosphere and lovely staff. Table was slightly sticky but I feel like that's just a typical pub environment. Would go back again.
Really good selection of beers, great service, warm outside space and top notch goat curry.
