Took a walk alone the Nith river and then had lunch at the Swan. It was lovely. The food was yummy and exceeded my expectations. We ordered creamy whisky sauce with char grilled chicken breast & haggis fritter and whole tail Scampi were both delicious Mince pie for dessert felt Christmassy.

We used to eat here more than 20 years ago! Happy to say on a recent return visit to the area, it's still a lovely place to eat. The Swan serves pub food at its very best. Freshly cooked, politely served by lovely staff sticking to all the current guidelines making for a very pleasant visit.
Nice pub/restaurant, friendly staff, good Sunday specials. Everything tasty and good value. On a sunny day, nice short riverside walk from Dumfries for a pint. No indoor alcohol at moment due to CoVid restrictions.
