What a wonderful meal the fish was perfectly prepared and fried. The chips were golden and delicious. Traditional bread and butter and tea completed the feast. It was a joy to be greeted by the staff and made so welcome. From order to plates overflowing with culinary masterpieces seemed a blink of the eye. May you continue to serve the best fish and chips in the north of England. We drove 220 miles to visit our old town. Much has changed over the past three years but THE SWAN is as great as ever.

Great fish and chips. After reading good reviews about this place we decided to try it and was not disappointed.Tasty cod with plenty of chips and peas all topped off with a nice pot of tea. Fast service and great prices. Would recommend. A

The final word in fish and chips. This is 100% the best fish and chip restaurant in the UK. It deserves all the praise it gets as the food is amazing no matter what you order and the staff are extremely friendly. They remember faces and are always polite and attentive. Service is always speedy and I’ve never had a bad meal here. Wish I could give them more stars Plus their curry sauce and gravy are spot on
Best fish and chips I’ve ever had. The steak pie with gravy is absolutely delicious as well. I’m not a big fan of peas in general, but they’ve managed to even make the peas taste good. Highly recommend! Ps the place is closed from around 2.30pm til 4pm.
