My favourite local place to eat and drink. Lovely atmosphere, amazing food and staff are the best. Would recommend to anyone over any chain restaurant.

YES! A pub that ticks all the boxes. The Sun Inn is located in a quiet country setting atop the mighty Hollingbourne Hill (try cycling up the beauty like I did, you’ll soon get a hunger on from the calories burnt). It’s a traditional, period pub with loads of character, oodles of space. It’s interior is a complement of old and new. I love what they have done with the jam jar style lighting fixtures. Service is warm, smiley, accommodating and down to earth. You feel welcomed and part of the pub social scene. The food, not massive in selection compared to other pubs, approaches food with the mantle “do one job, traditional British Pub Food, and do it bloody well”. The lamb rump I ordered was one of the best dishes I have tried in a while, full stop. A culinary complementary creativity. The raspberry jus, just set the whole dish off. Beautiful. I had a scenic ride around the Pilgrims Way. You should too and head to The Sun Inn.

Great food, and service! We were out and didn't know the area but saw some good reviews on line. The reviews were right. No booking but we were sat by the fire (great news as we were soaked!). We chose quickly and the food wasn't long but it all tasted very home made. All four of us were really impressed.

The pub is lovely and is in a fantastic country location. There is a massive grassed beer garden with a small play area for little kiddies, a smaller patio area and even a marque. However, for us it is way too expensive which is a big shame as it puts us off from having extra drinks or ever eating there. If it was more affordable I would give this pub five stars.

We had a family meal here last night, they were very busy but sat 12 of us with no problems. The food and service was fantastic, even though the pub was busy that didn’t impact on the quality of food or the level of service. Ample parking, nice play area and garden, will definitely be back to sample more of the menu.
