A pleasant local with reasonably priced well cooked food. The Sunday roast is one of the best around. You might find that the bar staff are more interested in chatting to the locals than serving... one time I just walked out after being ignored. There is off-road parking in a field behind the pub.
More for the locals than anyone else, something the Stag had been practically renowned for, for many years. Don't expect a warm welcome unless you're from the village, or a friend - and not necessarily even then!
We are a local charity and we have just had our volunteer Christmas lunch at the Stag. Glen Miller the landlord provided a great buffet lunch and he and his staff gave excellent service. Great all round pub and well worth a visit.
