Decidedly subpar The presentation of the beef pasta was certainly decent but with tough chewy underdone beef and partially raw Bombay Potatoes not really worth a recommendation. The burger was mediocre at best, with tough cooked rather than crisped bacon rashers. The kitchen is loud and the ambiance shout-y with staff clearly being overwhelmed with even only few guests being serviced (10 minute wait for a drink order when the place isn't even half full) And a meringue desert that's clearly store-bought with scoops of icecream that aren't even round, shows a general lack of care for the food. If only the food was better it would have been a relatively decent place to eat for the price.
Just had excellent light lunch in very nice surroundings. Very good menu.
Two hot chocolates and a latte for 9. Dead on. Latte tasted like burnt coffee and the hot chocolate was so tasteless my 2 year old wouldn't drink it. The cup contained more marshmallows than liquid and she wouldn't even eat those after trying the hot chocolate. Big thumbs down. Never again.
The Stables, Ebrington, Londonderry is a beautiful lovely place and deserves 1 star at least for that. Then it goes down hill quickly. On Monday 24th August we visited the Stables. The staff are rude. When asked about the govt Monday to Wednesday eat out deal we where told in a rude and condescending manner that eating on their grounds outside we couldn't get the discount. Why not? The food took ages to come and then they forgot some dishes, so had to wait for our kids meals. The chicken burgers where greasy and tough and chips tasted like they had been cooked in old cooking oil. Terrible value for money. They started to play background music on full blast and when asked to turn it down because the baby was sleeping again we where treated by the staff rudely who wouldn't turn it down. Such potential but let down by the arrogant staff, terrible food and not abiding by the govt eat out incentive, hence 1 star. If you walk over the Peace bridge and see The Stables keep on walking and save your self the disappointment.
