NOT A FAN. Was on my yearly pilgrimage up to Pontefract to see that wonderful power station, but my experience was ruined by a lack of hot food and unhelpful workers. I was sitting patiently before I was rudely asked to order or get out, this was not a good sign. I then went up to the counter to ask for a BLT and a coca-cola but this was not a good idea. The bacon was all gristle, the lettuce corrupted by way to much mayo, and the tomatoes had next to no flavour. The coca-cola was also warm. 0/7 not a fan (BUT I HAVE TO GIVE AT LEAST ONE STAR)

Lovely village pub. Comments about food on here are unjust. It is not a pub for a meal. Yes they offer food, the odd sandwich and sausage roll, as a snack, it is not a meal pub nor gastro pub, it has no dining area. If you're visiting after a walk, njoy the local ale, relax in the garden or by the fire, don't comment about bad food if you have planned a meal out here, that's your bad planning, not bad food... If you visited and tried ordering a meal, no wonder the locals are looking at you and the bar staff seemed off, maybe try Weatherspoons in Ponte...

My husband , granddaughter and I , along with our two dogs stopped for a hot drink and food after a long walk , the board outside said serving food ! I went in ( scanned the Covid app on entry ) waited for a member of staff to show up , when she did she was very rude telling not asking me to sit down !! I very politely informed her that we were outside , she rudely said right ! We asked for food and was told they did not serve food ?? We pointed to the board to which she said o yea sandwiches and which did we want ? As we had no menus or idea of what they did she went away to write them down ?she was very clearly put out by our request ! Not helpful in anyway !! Very rude we will definitely not be going again
