Great food! The carvery was delicious. Got straight into eating that, no pictures! Staff were super friendly. Food was quick. Puddings were delicious but portions are way too big. We'd have preferred half the size at 3. Nonetheless, go here! It's amazing!

Got a takeaway roast dinner. It was amazing. Huge portion. Beautifully cooked. Will definitely be having more of these every time we are on holiday in Cornwall.
Great service, all the staff were lovely, kind and conversational! The food was amazing even though you couldn't get your own carvery the portions were huge and well worth the money. The cakes after dinner were so good, however we had to get takeaway boxes as the slices were to big to finish so were taken home as a late night treat! Cannot express how good this place is and will definitely be visiting again at our next visit to Cornwall!!
Have dined at The Shires many times. My favourite meal outing and would recomend this restaurant as one of the best, as you have to book ahead because it's so very good. Excellent food comfortable surroundings and so welcoming. They will not disappoint you.
Perfect carvery on a Sunday. Lots of choice of veg even mushy peas! The dessert cart had lots of yummy looking cakes too. Would highly recommend a visit.
